How Can We Help You?

How We Can Help You

Our service is free, confidential and non-judgemental.

• We will listen to you and treat you with respect.

• We will believe you and support you to identify the risks to your safety.

• We will provide emotional and practical support.

• We will discuss the options open to you.

• We will work with you to form a plan to keep yourself safe. This is called a Safety Plan

• We will work with you to leave an abusive relationship safely (if that is what you decide to do).

This is called a Safety Leaving Plan.

• We will help you access safe emergency accommodation (Refuge).

• We will support you to access your rights & entitlements (Social Welfare payments, Legal Aid, etc.)

• We will accompany you to a number of places (including Court Hearings).

• We will support the choices you make.

 

Other Services We Offer

• Outreach – For woman without transport or unable to come to Longford Women’s Link.

• 1:1 meetings – 1 of our Domestic Violence Specialists meet with women to provide emotional support, safety planning, discuss options open to them plus help them understand domestic violence.

• Accompaniment – we can accompany women to places such as Intreo, Solicitors or Child Protection Services.

• Court Accompaniment – we can support you whilst you attend court hearings, help explain a Judge’s decision and also help you fill out Domestic Violence Order applications if you cannot afford Legal Aid.

• Helpline – The helpline is for anyone looking for help or information about domestic violence/abuse.

• Advocacy – We work actively to help and support women to access their rights and entitlements.

• Counselling – We can link women in with Counsellors experienced in dealing with the impact of domestic violence.
