ECCE Lead Educator

Longford Women’s Link (LWL) is an organisation based in Longford Town which focuses on identifying and addressing key inequalities that prevent women in Longford achieving their full social and economic potential. “Catkins Early Years’ Service” is an established childcare service within LWL.
Catkins Early Years’ Service now wishes to recruit for the following position:

Lead Educator

Department/Room: Catkins Early Years’ Service

Report To: Childcare Manager

Job Purpose: Working with the Assistant Educators and the Childcare Manager to ensure the smooth day‐to‐day running of the service.

Experience, Knowledge and Qualifications required:

Qualifications Minimum Level 7 is required or a relevant qualification in Education.

Experience
Minimum 2 years childcare experience is essential.
Competent in Aistear & Siolta & the early years regulations
Arts & Crafts
Ability to keep the early year’s environment to the required standards

Knowledge of
Pre-school Regulations
Children First
Health and Safety

Hours of Work and Benefits:

Hours 35 hours per week

Benefits include
€17 per hour
25 days annual leave

Early Years Practitioners

Early Years Practitioners needed

Catkins on the Move are recruiting full time and part time early years practitioners. Flexible employment opportunities.

As a Catkins on the Move Early Years Practitioner, you will be required to fill temporary staffing needs as they arise within Catkins on the Move, be it on mobile crèche or childcare relief work as booked with Catkins on the Move. You will report directly through the line management structure of the service to which you are assigned.

Hours
Hours are flexible. You will work a minimum of 20 hours per week up to 39 hours per week.

Purpose of work
To providing flexible childcare support to Catkins on the Move, for mobile crèche or childcare relief work. To promote a happy, healthy, stimulating, and safe environment within the childcare services.

Key areas of work

Working as relief staff in Tusla Registered Early Years Services and adhering to their policies and procedures.
Working in temporary early years services.
Ensuring the Childcare Act 1991 (Early Years Services) Regulations 2016 are adhered to following the Quality and Regulatory framework (QRF)
Organise and participate in developmentally appropriate games and activities based on the emergent interests of the child.
Keeping appropriate early years records up-to-date.
Appropriate communication with children using verbal and non-verbal methods.
Developing good working relationships with clients and co-workers.
Adhere to Longford Women’s Link Child Safeguarding Statement and the Child Safeguarding Statements from any services engaged in.
Attendance at future training sessions as required.
Any other duties as assigned.
